Huge shoutout to the amazing Key Clubbers from Lakewood High School and El Rancho High School for an incredible meeting takeover at the Downey Kiwanis Club! 👏💙
Both clubs brought energy, leadership, and plenty of delicious treats to share. During the meeting, each club held a baked goods auction filled with homemade goodies that had everyone bidding enthusiastically. Thanks to the generosity of our Kiwanis members, each club raised over $400 to support their trip to the upcoming Key Club District Convention!

Last night was a special evening for the Downey Kiwanis Club as we had the privilege of welcoming three outstanding new members into our Kiwanis family. 🎉
Please join me in congratulating Marisol Alarid, Argentina-Davila Luevano, and Angel Godinez Luevano, who were officially inducted during our meeting at the Arc Los Angeles/Orange County Reagan Center.
Membership is the lifeblood of Kiwanis, and each new member strengthens our mission to serve the children and families of our community. For more than a century, Kiwanis has brought together people committed to living the Golden Rule, building lasting friendships, and making a real difference through service. Welcoming Marisol, Argentina, and Angel continues that proud tradition.
The energy in the room was fantastic as we celebrated their commitment to service and the shared purpose that unites Kiwanians around the world: improving the lives of children and building stronger communities.
We’re excited to see the ideas, passion, and leadership our newest members will bring to the club as we continue supporting youth programs, local initiatives, and service projects across Downey.
